Both episodes of the sports podcast feature high school football, Halloween

It’s hard to believe, but the high school football season is drawing to a close.

We are looking at week 9 this next Friday.

Meanwhile, Halloween is just a weekend away.

Where did the time go?

I couldn’t decide if I wanted to talk about soccer or Halloween on the weekly podcast, so I decided to do both!

That’s right, this week you get two episodes of “The * State * of Florida Sports Podcast,” powered by the USA TODAY Network.

In one episode, we have four of our network reporters detailing two big games coming up this Friday: Jacksonville Bolles in Gainesville-Buchholz and Port Orange-Spruce Creek in Cocoa.

Classification by classification:Listen now! Florida’s fish ranking for top fishing states, mullet racing and more

Joe from Broadway:Listen now! Joe Namath discusses raffle charity Zach Wilson, who grew up in western Pennsylvania.

Star Agent:Listen now! Russell Wilson agent Mark Rodgers Trey Mancini talks about trip to LLWS

For the first game, I’ll be joined by Clayton Freeman of the Florida Times Union and Ainslie Lee of the Gainesville Sun. For Game 2, we’ll be hosting Chris Boyle from the Daytona Beach News-Journal and Brian McCallum from FLORIDA TODAY.

Bolles (6-0) is the best team in class 4A while Buchholz (6-1) is a powerhouse in 7A.

Spruce Creek is also a 7A (7-0) powerhouse while Cocoa (5-1) resides in 4A, but has killed 8A teams all season. The Tigers’ only loss was by a point against 8A, Venice, widely regarded as one of the best teams in the state.

The other episode of the podcast will be devoted to one of my favorite topics: Halloween.

My house has been decorated since mid-September.

To help me break down Halloween movies, candy, music, and other topics, I welcome Mark Moses, host of the Mark Moses radio show on 1560 The Fan. Mark’s sports show is broadcast from Melbourne and he can also be heard on sportsradio1560.com.

He’s an expert in sports, but as you will see he is also very knowledgeable about movies and music.

What are we going to discuss?

Have you ever thought about the creatures belonging to Monster Mount Rushmore?

What’s the most obscure horror movie you’ve seen?

What candy do you associate with Halloween?

And what kind of music do you listen to at this time of year? Michael Jackson or Ozzy Osbourne?

We have a little something for everyone this week.

If you are a high school football fan, a Halloween fan or both, then this podcast is for you.

We can be downloaded anywhere you listen to podcasts, or just type “The * State * of Florida Sports Podcast” into your favorite search engine and you’ll find several listening options including Spotify. We can also be found on any of the 17 USA TODAY-Network Florida websites.

It’s like listening to the radio, but on your phone.

If you like it, you can check out the previous shows, which feature current and former professional athletes and coaches, as well as our stable of journalists who cover rhythms and write columns, all of which relate to the Sunshine State.

If you don’t, one of our ghosts might follow you home! Ha ha ha ha !!!
