The Cleveland Browns have seen offseason practices come to an end with players joining forces. Could this happen again with Cam Newton?
There was a time when off-season training with big-name players became Cleveland Browns the excited fans. In 2018, that was the case when the former Cleveland quarterback Tyrod Taylor and Jarvis Landry work with Odell BeckhamJr. who was with the New York Giants at the time.
OBJ and Landry also worked with Mayfield Baker then before the start of the 2019 season, Beckham wore No. 13 for the Browns.
Now Beckham is training with another star player, but this time there may not be a real connection. The Browns’ broad was training with the free agent quarterback Cam Newtonbut don’t expect him to come to Cleveland anytime soon.
Had this happened a few months ago there might have been more speculation that Newton would take on the No.2 role behind Mayfield, but head coach Kevin Stefanski already has his replacement from confidence in Keenum case. Still, it’s fun to speculate about any big-name player and their future.

“Browns wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. has vowed to come back ‘bigger, stronger, faster’ from his core muscle surgery, and he gave a glimpse of it over the weekend when he practiced with quarterback Cam Newton at UCLA.”
Cam Newton was the league’s MVP in 2015 but is now without a team after battling injuries for the past two seasons. He will eventually find a job and if he is healthy he will be a steal. There would have been a time when Browns fans would have fallen over themselves begging the front office to land Newton, but right now that’s not the case.
Brent Sobleski of Bleacher Report has named Cleveland Browns Corp linebacker the team’s potential ‘red flag’. It’s very possible, time will tell. Maybe it’s just an inexperienced group that hasn’t been able to show it on the pitch. Mack Wilson enters his sophomore year needing to play much better than his rookie season, while Sione Takitaki really needs to step onto the court.
There isn’t a position on the team that has more red flags around it than linebacker, which makes this article very unsurprising.
“Can the Browns be competitive, a .500 record or slightly better? It’s a realistic expectation. But I am worried about the lack of minicamps due to COVID-19. You don’t build a culture, team unit, or system on Zoom calls alone. But that’s the story so far for the Browns’ new coaching staff…and everyone else in the NFL.
Terry Pluto answers many questions about the Browns and the respect they command this season. The simple truth is that to get respect, they’re going to have to earn it by winning games.
Josh Brown reviews the Browns’ latest offer of defensive end Jadeveon Clowney. Reports suggest they are offering him $15 million for one season. If he took it, Cleveland would have two No. 1 overall picks on their defensive line.
