Florida Atlantic University will celebrate LGBTQ+ History Month with a series of events for students, staff, and faculty from Wednesday, October 5 through Monday, October 31 at its campuses in Boca Raton, Jupiter, and Broward.
The following events will take place at FAU’s Boca Raton Campus, 777 Glades Road:
queer coffee time
Wednesday, Oct. 5 from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m.
Center of Ideas, Student Union
The Center for IDEAs, in conjunction with Victim Services, will host a Queer Coffee Hour as part of Domestic Violence Awareness Month. Join staff and others for a discussion focused on domestic violence and the LGBTQ+ community. The event will take place in the Diversity Lounge of the Center for IDEAs. 12e Annual drag show
Friday, Oct. 7 from 8 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.
Carole and Barry Kaye Auditorium, Student Office

Kick off FAU’s homecoming with the 12th Annual Drag Show. The drag show will feature a night of entertainment performances using lip-synching and dancing to highlight themes within the LGBTQ+ community and show the diversity of gender expression. The event will feature “RuPaul’s Drag Race” runner-up Roxxxy Andrews, along with local artists Ariel Rimm, TP Lords, Nicky Monet, Velvet Lenore, Rianna Petrone and Katt Wilderness. This event is free for all FAU students and the public can purchase a ticket for $10.
National Coming Out Day – filing event
Tuesday, Oct. 11 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The event itself will be a combination of FAU pride and Hispanic/Latino/a/x Heritage Month cultures. Several FAU cultural student organizations will additionally present food, crafts, music and dance.

Coming Out monologues will recognize and make room for the potential difficulties of coming out while encouraging everyone to find the “gold” in their stories. Round table on the rainbow project
Wednesday, Oct. 19 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.

In collaboration with the SG Multicultural Programming Board, the roundtable is designed to engage in conversation with faculty and staff who are part of the LGBTQ+ community and their allies.
