ZEPHRYHILLS, Fla. – Grace Elaine (O’Riley) Noble, 82, widow of LeRoy “Barney” Noble, to whom she was married for 20 years, died peacefully on August 28, 2022, at Community Hospice in St. Augustine, Fla. ., complications of chronic diseases.
Grace was born November 14, 1939 in Watertown, NY, the daughter of the late William and Mabel (Corbett) O’Riley. Raised in Watertown, NY, she graduated from Immaculate Heart Academy High School and worked as a secretary and bookkeeper.
Grace participated in many activities in the BetMar community where she lived. She also had a passion for music all her life. She sang tenor for years as Sweet Adeline and was part of a quartet of barbers who performed in nursing homes and hospices, and donated all proceeds to local school music departments in Zephyrhills.
She also worked as a volunteer at the hospice for several years. Grace organized and donated Christmas comfort packages, clothing and gifts to local homeless shelters in Zephyrhills.
Grace is survived by her daughter and husband, Tami and Edmund Caporaso; his three sons and their wives, Thomas and Kathy Murray of East Haddam, Connecticut, Patrick Murray and Terri Anderson-Murray of Moodus, Connecticut, and Timothy Murray and Stacey Ewing of Archer, Florida; two sisters, Mary Therese Scully of Milford, Connecticut, and Sharon O’Riley of Rochester, NY; three stepchildren and their spouses, Drew and Julie Noble of Fort Myers, Florida, Marsha and Anthony Sharky of Prospect, Connecticut, and Orian and Robert Peck of Prospect, Connecticut; eight grandchildren and one great-grandson of his children; six grandchildren and their children whom she loved and shared with her husband’s family; and several beloved nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband and parents, Grace was predeceased by her four brothers, William, Richard, Neil and Bernard.
Calling hours will be Sunday, October 23, 2022 from noon to 2 p.m. at Buckmiller Thurston Mengacci Funeral Home, 82 Fairview Ave., Naugatuck, Conn. Interment will be Monday, October 24, 2022 at 9:30 a.m. at Grove Cemetery, Cross Street, Naugatuck, Conn.
