Laine Hardy Comes to Columbia for Free Concert, Donates Instruments to Local College
COLUMBIA, SC – Country music star and American Idol winner Laine Hardy will be in Columbia, South Carolina on Thursday, December 9, 2021, to support Little Children’s Rock, a national non-profit organization that advocates for music education in K-12 schools in 48 states.
While in town, Hardy will be giving a free concert from 8 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Wild Wings Cafe, 729 Lady St., after visiting Heyward Gibbes Middle School and the University of South Carolina.
At around 11:30 am at Heyward Gibbes, Hardy will deliver instruments for the school’s music program and perform for the students.
âGrowing up in a town of 2,000 people, our schools didn’t really have a music education program, so I had to figure it out for myself with the help of my family,â said Hardy, 21. . a native of Livingston, Louisiana, who bought his first guitar at the age of six. “It’s really important for me to help train the artists of tomorrow …”
After Heyward Gibbes, Hardy will travel to the University of South Carolina around 2:30 p.m.
Hardy won American Idol in 2019 and began touring, headlining nationally in 2021. His Grand Ole Opry debut was on August 28, 2021 and his first album, Here’s to Any, was released on September 17, 2021.
