Local artist takes part in ASEAN-Korea music festival

Bruneian artist Dila Junaidi with the group The Stars participated in Round 2021 of the Asean-Korea Music Festival where she performed five songs during the concert.

The festival took place last Sunday and brought together 15 Korean musicians and nine ASEAN member states. The six-hour online festival was hosted by the public broadcaster KBS and sponsored by the Seoul Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the ASIAN-Korea Cooperation Fund and the ASEAN Secretariat.

According to the ASEAN-Korea Cooperation Fund (AKCF), Round 2021 hoped to strengthen the cultural bond and support between ASEAN and Korea through music.

It also aims to provide an opportunity for the young generation from various countries to communicate through music and promote the formation of an active pop music network connecting the countries.

ASEAN’s debut line-up included SB19 from the Philippines, My Anh from Vietnam, Sophia Liana from Malaysia, Barasuara from Indonesia, Taiy Akard from Laos, Kesorrr from Cambodia, Two Popetorn from Thailand and Dila with The Stars from Brunei. Jambinai, Sam Kim, Lucy and ADOY have joined the line-up for the Korea performance.
