MUMBAI: Beginning of rehearsals with Hollywood choreographer Adam Murray; the movie will be released on november 15th

A one of a kind musical from Ilaiyaraaja – ‘Music School’, directed and written by Papa Rao Biyyala is ready to roll with a timed puja muhurat on Dussehra. The film crew pulls the positivity as they prepare to dive into its making on the auspicious day. Sparking excitement among music lovers, Biyyala’s Hindi directorial debut musical made headlines for roping Sharman Joshi, Shriya Saran and Shaan (as singer and actor).

Filming for the musical will begin on November 15 in Goa. Dedicated to bringing out authenticity, the film’s production team is launching a 30-day, 12-song rehearsal with Hollywood choreographer Adam Murray and partner Paul Saunders in Hyderabad.

Music School is a 12 song musical about the pressure the unimaginative education system puts on children to make fun of equations and aim only to become doctors or engineers, leaving no time for the arts or sports . Designed to convey the impact of the arts on the lives of students, the film features three songs from the Hollywood classic “The Sound of Music”.

Papa Rao Biyyala said, “Writing the script has been a happy journey for me and it’s great to see the script channeled into music and visuals. As a movie buff I’ve been fascinated by Broadway musicals and I think a storyline gets stronger with the music and dance choreography propelling the narrative. I am honored and reassured that the legendary maestro Ilaiyaraaja composes his music.
